FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Below are some Frequently Asked Questions and answers. If your question is not answered, or you have additional questions, we urge you to contact the Court.
DOES THE JUDGE (OR COURT EMPLOYEES) TAKE ONE SIDE OR ANOTHER DURING A DISPUTE BETWEEN PARTIES?
Whether the parties are individuals, corporations, or the government, the Court remains neutral and will render an objective decision based on the evidence presented.
IF I DON'T KNOW THE LAW, OR HAVE A QUESTION, WILL THE JUDGE HELP ME?
As mention above, the Court is neutral, the Judge may explain a process or procedure, but a judge cannot help one party as it may adversely affect the other party.
WHO SHOULD I ASK ABOUT LEGAL ISSUES?
While it is always advisable to seek the counsel of an attorney, there are other resources, advocates, and Legal Self-Help agencies that may be able to assist you in legal matters. However, complex legal questions should be directed to a licensed attorney.
